Wild Life (Protection) Act 1972: native scheduled species may not be kept; the 2022 amendment (in force 1 Apr 2023) added Schedule IV (CITES species) and s.49M registration via PARIVESH (Rules of 28 Feb 2024). Non-CITES exotics legal.
