Partly. Toy guns are restricted in Malaysia. Look-alike toy guns need a police licence; raids seize the rest.
Arms Act 1960 s.36: importing or possessing an imitation arm (incl. toy pistols, per WTO QR notification / Customs Prohibition of Imports Order 2023) is an offence without a state police licence; licences go only to registered firms/clubs. 1,479 imitation guns seized in Dec 2024-Jan 2025 raids; the 'no licence for toy pistols' line (Jul 2025) is one state police chief (Melaka), not a nationwide statement.
